Notes on data processing
In accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), we inform you about the processing of your personal data (Art. 4 (1) DSGVO).
Legal basis
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1a) DSGVO. Your participation is voluntary. We treat all collected data strictly confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection regulations.
Type of storage
All information you provide in the course of this survey will be stored pseudonymously (Art. 4 para. 5 DSGVO), i.e. by means of an individual pseudonym (code) for you in paper form and/or electronically. This pseudonym usually consists of numbers and letters and represents an individual identification. The pseudonym makes it possible to correlate your data from different experiments, questionnaires and studies without the need for a direct personal reference (e.g. by means of your full name). The pseudonym also serves to ensure that the data collected in the study cannot be clearly assigned to your person without the addition of further information. Your personal data used to contact you (e.g. your e-mail address for making appointments) as well as the consent form you have completed will be kept or stored separately from the study data.
Legal notice
You have the right to obtain information about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the subsequent correction, deletion, revocation or restriction of the processing of this data (Art. 15-18 DSGVO).To exercise these rights, please use the contact option provided above. With regard to all other data collected in the study, the rights can only be exercised if you provide us with your individual code (pseudonym). As soon as the data collected in the study is only available in anonymized form (i.e., the code has been deleted as an assignment function), subsequent information, deletion, correction, revocation and restriction of the processing of this data is no longer possible.
Criteria for the storage period
Data collected in the context of the study will be stored as long as they are relevant for the ongoing research (Art.13 para. 2a & Art.15 para.1d DSGVO).As a rule, all data collected in the course of scientific studies are stored for ten years after completion of the respective project - in accordance with the "Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice" of the German Research Foundation DFG (https://www.dfg.de/foerderung/grundlagen_rahmenbedingungen/gwp/index.html).Please note that deletion of data that have already been reported in scientific publications or uploaded to scientific databases cannot be carried out subsequently, as the anonymization that has taken place means that it is no longer possible to assign the data to specific individuals.
Responsibility
The responsible party within the meaning of the GDPR is the Chair of General Psychology: Cognition (Prof. Dr. Matthias Brand) at the University of Duisburg-Essen with the above contact details.
The data protection officer of the University of Duisburg-Essen is Dr. Kai-Uwe Loser (kai-uwe.loser@uni-due.de).Further information on data protection at the University of Duisburg-Essen can be found at www.uni-due.de/verwaltung/datenschutz.Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with any supervisory authority, for example, the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (www.ldi.nrw.de) (Art.13 para. 2d & Art. 77 DSGVO).
