Chatbots and Neurodiversity

Welcome to the study “Chatbots and Neurodiversity”!

Thank you for your interest in this study. The study is part of a cooperation between the Department of General Psychology: Cognition at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Department of Psychology at London South Bank University.

Participation requirements & Compensation

Participants must be at least 18 years old and speak German or English. Unfortunately, no compensation can be paid. The survey should not be completed on a mobile phone but on a laptop or tablet.

Background and aims of the study

This study aims to investigate the influence of neurodiversity and executive functions on the acceptance of chatbots.

Procedure of the study

The following study takes place online and lasts approximately 20 minutes.

At the beginning, you will answer a few questions about yourself and play a card game with patterns and a number game. This is followed by two questionnaires before you are introduced to a chatbot. You will interact with it before finally answering a few more questionnaires. There are different answer formats when answering the various questionnaires. You will be informed before each new group of questions as to how you should answer.

If you have any further questions, please contact Eva Gößwein (eva.goesswein@uni-due.de).

Criteria for the storage period

Data collected in the context of the study will be stored as long as they are relevant for the ongoing research (Art.13 para. 2a & Art.15 para.1d DSGVO).As a rule, all data collected in the course of scientific studies are stored for ten years after completion of the respective project - in accordance with the "Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice" of the German Research Foundation DFG (https://www.dfg.de/foerderung/grundlagen_rahmenbedingungen/gwp/index.html).Please note that deletion of data that have already been reported in scientific publications or uploaded to scientific databases cannot be carried out subsequently, as the anonymization that has taken place means that it is no longer possible to assign the data to specific individuals.
